At Crossroads Hope Academy, our mission is to provide a safe and secure home where teen foster boys (12-17 years old) are encouraged to love themselves, have faith, and develop relationships to best prepare them for the future.
We believe that every young person deserves the chance to thrive—regardless of the hardships they’ve faced. Located in Charlotte County in beautiful Southwest Florida, our vision is that every youth feels loved, has hope for the future and becomes a contributing member of society.
For many boys, transitioning into foster care means stepping into the unknown—leaving their family, however dysfunctional it might have been, and entering a world of uncertainty. Many of these young men struggle: their self-esteem falters, their academic progress stalls or ends prematurely, and without effective intervention they may face a future of homelessness, crime, or government dependency.
Crossroads Hope Academy aims to interrupt that pattern. We offer a specialized program designed for teenage boys (ages 12-17) whose needs surpass what the traditional foster care system offers. These are kids who’ve been moved to one placement after another, with upheaval and trauma at every turn. Here, they find something many have never known—a stable home, a caring staff, and a chance to build toward a self-sufficient future.
Crossroads has deep roots in helping at-risk youth. For over 30 years we provided services through contracts with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. In 2013 we transitioned into a dedicated, full-time foster-care program. Since then, we’ve grown and evolved to meet the shifting needs of the youth we serve. Today we operate multiple campuses in Charlotte County, Florida, including our original 20-acre home on the Babcock Ranch Wilderness Preserve and a second, 13,000 sq-ft home on 5 acres near downtown Punta Gorda, which opened in October 2022.
Our program delivers a unique blend of treatment, education and behavioral support to help young men who have experienced significant trauma reclaim hope and build the life-skills they need. Among our offerings:
Providing effective care for kids with complicated backgrounds isn’t just compassionate — it’s a wise societal investment. These young men have already been overlooked by systems meant to protect them, and the costs to society when they fall through the cracks are high: increased crime, long‐term government dependence, homelessness and lost potential. At Crossroads Hope Academy, we believe that the cost of doing it right today pays off ten-fold in the future.

We cannot emphasise enough: these are just kids—fragile, often scared, yet full of potential. We recognize that what they’ve been through might define their past, but it cannot determine their future. They deserve stability, respect and opportunity. And with the support of our community, donors and volunteers, we stand together to say: we will not abandon them.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. If you’d like to get involved, donate, volunteer or learn more about our programs, please reach out. Together, we’ll help these young men not just find their way — but build a new one.
